about the blog.

Story behind the logo?

When I was coming up with website names, I wanted to make it something cute and unique. I knew the page would include food- and fitness-related content, but I also didn’t want to regret the web domain either. Thus, I stuck with a simple one: my name. However, one of my original ideas for a name was “whisks and weights.” Your girl does appreciate some cheesy alliteration. I designed it as a cross between (you guessed it) a balloon whisk and a barbell. Although my site is more focused on food than fitness, I couldn’t just pick one to represent what I love.

Recipe nutrition facts?

You’ll notice that I have written the calorie count and macronutrient breakdown for the majority of my recipes as a reference. However, they won’t be perfectly accurate due to variations in different ingredients that you could use for cooking—the baking recipes are more precise, given that there is little variation with those recipes. I haven’t included values for sugar, fiber, or vitamins and minerals, as these numbers are general representations of the basic nutritional information of each dish. If you want a more comprehensive breakdown of the dishes, I recommend using apps like MyFitnessPal to calculate the nutrition of your specific version.

Baking recipe measurements?

You may also notice that many of my baking recipes almost exclusively use gram-scale measurements rather than ounces or cups. Weighing out ingredients is the most accurate way to produce repeatable and reliable results for exact recipes (especially when working with packable ingredients like flour or brown sugar), so I highly recommend you use this method instead when baking.
