What is tempeh?

In the era of trendy health foods, tempeh has definitely made a name for itself as tofu’s ugly cousin. Tempeh originates from Indonesia, and it’s made from pressed, fermented soy beans.

Many people don’t like its bitterness (I don’t mind), but that can easily be removed through a quick boil before proceeding with any recipe. After that, the options are endless! This pan-fried tempeh is flavored with soy sauce, and you can add other spices, too.
