Spicy Stir-Fried Bean Curd
Bean curd is essentially a dried, pressed super firm tofu. I haven’t seen it at many grocery stores, but you can always find it at any Asian supermarket. The texture is unbeatable, and it can soak up tons of flavor when stir-fried!

Ingredients
- 12 oz bean curd or super firm tofu, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp tamari/soy sauce
- 1 tbsp chili fermented black bean (dou chi)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 shallot, thinly sliced
- 1 stalk green onion, thinly sliced
- 1-2 tsp cooking oil
Directions
- Heat oil in a wok over medium heat.
- Add garlic, shallots, and green onion, sautéing until fragrant for 1-2 minutes.
- Add sliced bean curd and stir fry for 3-4 minutes until they begin to turn golden brown before adding tamari/soy sauce and fermented black bean. Cook until the liquid is absorbed and remove from heat. Serve with rice!
